My account was hacked by someone using an email service I have never used before. I sent 4 tickets to Twitter and they never replied. A week later out of the blue I get an email from Twitter telling me my account has been suspended. Something fishy is going on here. I’m guessing that whoever hacked my account used it to do something that violated Twitters TOS.
And to make matters worse, now I can’t file a support ticket because I can’t log in. So basically, someone wanted me gone from Twitter and I have no way of restoring my account. Global Doom says. Or there is a double standard at play here. Twitter than suspended me again this time indefinitely and said my tweet violated their hate speech guidelines. I then tried to appeal and they kept throwing back how my statement violated their guidleines. The worst thing is I then Tried to deactivate my account and I can’t even do that. If they are going to apply arbitrary rules and suspend my indefinitely for what I consider BS I have no interest in continuing to tweet on such a crappy platform. But I can still login and logout.
Which means my email address and phone number are still linked to my account. I have no interest in keeping my info available on twitters servers. One, because of security reasons, but more importantly, they suspended my account for BS reasons. I therefore have no interest in supporting the platform in any way. The lesson here is – don’t go on twitter. They are a complete echo chamber and will ban you for arbitrary reasons and then refuse to deactivate your account.
